twitter

I spent some time exploring twitter and found it very interesting.

I found out that scientists at Sony now have a twitter device for cats which transmits data to a PC, which automatically posts it on twitter.  It tells what the cat is doing, such as, "This tastes good."  Hopefully, there's a message to convey, "I love this DVD!"

I searched "Calgary" and someone mentioned that in Calgary "we get random spills of snow."  And in searching "chocolate", I found that one person said, "I hate toothpaste srsly why cant it taste like chocolate"

My thought on twitter, ............ people have a lot to say and want to be heard.  Some of what they say is meaningful, some not.

Library Thing

I have spent quite a bit of time browsing Library Thing and find it really interesting.  I think there are many practical applications, both personally and at CPL.  For myself, the book recommendations, book reviews, and author pages would be very useful.  I don't know that I would get into the social groups, but I find them interesting concepts.

At the library, I have already recommended Library Thing to a woman who wants to list books she reads and find out about similar books.  I will definitely recommend it to other customers.

Online Productivity Tools

I can see myself using Google Docs since I don't have MS Word.  It was easy to create a document.

I would definitely not use Google Calendar as I find an actual daytimer much more convenient.  Maybe I'm old-fashioned!

It is definitely good to know about these tools.
